Multiple Techniques
Not every carpet can be brought back to a clean state using
one method. Different methods for different carpets and possibly multiple
methods for some homes is the simple fact of thorough cleaning. Let's look
at the three methods used by Baby Safe and the strengths of each.
 Bonnet
or VLM cleaning is the only method that cleans while drying in 59 minutes or
less and allows the technician to actually post vacuum the carpet, thus removing
anything broken free by the agitation. It can be used alone or in
conjunction with the other two methods. Generally, the reason for using
this with the other methods is that the chemicals utilize actually speed the
drying process by pulling out foreign material and chemicals from the water thus
providing the water a faster evaporation environment. VLM stands for Very
Little Moisture.
Shampooing is the first method we used in carpet cleaning with our first carpet cleaning company in Los Angeles back in 1972. The is the only method which can go deep down to the backing and literally bust loose the most stubborn of dirts. These days we may use this method followed with the Rotovac and using the VLM method to finish off the cleaning process. While this may be the beginning of the highest priced solution, many times it is absolutely necessary. The fact is this is the best method for cleaning those new carpets made from recycled pop bottles (a fancy way for saying polyester).

A
Rotovac powerwand when used in conjunction with a high powered
portable extractor is the best method available today for a true
restorative cleaning. Not only does it clean the carpet with
the equivalent of 1500 wand strokes per minute, the fibers have a
renewed softness that you can feel even while the carpet is in a
drying state. This process takes the longest to perform and involves far
more chemicals than the other methods but you can see and feel the
results right away. We have been using the powerwand since
2005 with great success here in Oregon. The cost is $3.00 per square foot and is recommended for water and smoke damaged carpets only.
