Beside using GREEN chemicals, how does
VLM win out on protecting the environment?
The average hot water extraction cleaner puts
approximately 50-60 gallons or more of water into 1,000
sq/ft of carpet. The average extraction rig can only get
85% of that water out. That leaves 7-9 gallons of water in
your carpets for each 1,000 sq/ft. That means an average
sized house could have almost 20 gallons of water left on
their floor.
Our program uses
one gallon
for the same 1,000 sq/ft of carpet without leaving water
behind!
Our program increases indoor air quality by
reducing the risk for mold and spore travel, mildew, and
chemical smells that can occur with other cleaning methods.
And less water used cleaning carpet means more fresh clean
water for all life to enjoy.
Don’t you need to extract at some
point?
While our VLM program makes a great interim
cleaning method for extractors, we firmly believe and have
proven over 4 years of cleaning the VLM way that our system
can be an all-in-one solution.
Does your method work on all types of carpet?
The VLM (Bonnet) method has works extremely well
What is the dry time of the VLM method?
VLM takes about 59 minutes to dry.
Why should I have my carpets cleaned?
There are many reasons to have your carpet
and upholstery cleaned:
-
Health-
Carpeting and fabrics not cleaned and properly
maintained have the potential to cause a variety of
health problems inside the home or work place.
-
Life of your carpet-
can be greatly extended by simple routine
professional cleaning.
-
Appearance-
maintain the original look and luster of
your carpet with regularly scheduled cleanings.
How often should I have my furniture cleaned?
The EPA currently has issued no guidelines on
the recommended cleaning frequency for upholstery. Until
such a guideline has been issued, our company recommends
that you have your upholstery cleaned every other time your
carpet is cleaned. Example: if your carpets get cleaned
every six months, your upholstery should be cleaned once a
year.
Should I vacuum before the carpet cleaner
arrives?
Vacuuming is part of our carpet cleaning
service, but we not only pre vacuum -- we post vacuum at the
end of any VLM cleaning. We vacuum slowly, we vacuum
in both directions. Then we rake before and after cleaning.
We spend our greatest amount of time in the vacuuming
process staying focused on the traffic areas in an effort to
break the bonds dirt has with these areas.
Do you move furniture?
When necessary we
will move and replace small furniture in its original
position but they must be clear of any objects. This means
couches and chairs cannot become temporary storage devices
for what was on the floor or tables. We do not move furniture with our $34.95 special.
*We will not move musical instruments,
grandfather clocks, most beds, full china hutches, full
bookshelves, entertainment centers, pool tables...our
technicians reserve the right not to move any piece of
furniture or household object that they do not feel
comfortable with.
Should I move anything?
Yes, you should remove all nick knack and
breakables from the areas being cleaned. We will neither
move nor clean near them if they remain in the area to be
cleaned.
How long will it take for my furniture to
dry?
Our dry times typically range from 1 - 2
hours. Dry times can be affected by many factors including
weather, humidity, and airflow.
How long before I can walk on my carpet?
You can walk on your carpet immediately but
it is recommended that you limit traffic until completely
dry.
Are the products you use safe?
Yes, we use the #1 line of cleaning products
in the world. This allows us to guarantee the highest
quality job available at any price! Our products are:
nontoxic, safe for pets & children, biodegradable, and
phosphate free.
Are your technicians experienced?
Yes, our technicians attend courses,
seminars, and schools across the country to keep current on
the latest in cleaning technologies. The owner has 37 years
experience.
Will your services help my allergies?
Yes, having your carpet and furniture cleaned
removes pollutants and makes for a more friendly breathing
environment.
Will you remove all my stains?
Let me start by defining the difference
between a spot and a stain: a spot is any foreign material
(soil, liquid, etc.) that is removable by standard cleaning
methods. (The foreign material is on or around the carpet
fiber)
A stain is foreign material (soil, liquid,
etc.) on carpet that is not usually removable by standard
cleaning methods. (The foreign material has penetrated
‘soaked into’ fiber and has changed or damaged the fiber
itself) Some stains may be very difficult or impossible to
remove. Many are not guaranteed for removal from the carpet
mills. Stains are not removed in reality, we neutralize
their visual appearance. They are there but you can't
see them. The foreign material is gone, we make sure
of that.
Does cleaning your carpet make it wear out
faster?
No, actually dirt acts as an abrasive when
trapped in your carpet or fabrics and should be removed to
reduce wear. Nor does it remove the teflon protection.
That is released due to wear and time related breakdown of
chemical bonds.
Does your process restore the original feel
of my carpet?
Yes, our processes leaves your carpet fresh,
clean, residue free and soft to the touch.
Should I have a fabric protector applied
after cleaning?
Yes, most carpet manufacturers recommend that
you reapply protector after professional cleaning to restore
the original stain resistance. Some manufacturers even
require it as part of the warranty on the carpet. It
is the protector that wears, not the carpet -- if you have
protector applied at least once per year in the average
household.
My carpet is really old, should I replace it?
With the cost of replacing carpet being as
expensive as it is today, it is always best to try having
the carpet professionally cleaned first. It is far less
costly and may make a world of difference. The
only good reason for replacing carpet is to change the look
of a room. Because carpet itself is considered a bio
hazard, their is a fee charged by landfill companies who
handle hazardous material when disposing of carpet.
Consider donating it to a company like ours which cleans,
cuts to size and gives it to charitable companies who then
give it to needy families who do not have carpet in their
homes.
I actually
built a retail carpet store based on carpet others had
thrown out which was then cleaned and cut to size. I
started a NEW carpet store with the proceeds from the USED
carpet store. USED carpet
becomes RENEWED carpet
in our hands.
Which provides better indoor air quality:
hardwood, or carpet?
Carpet actually acts like a ‘filter’ trapping
pollutants which are then removed by professional carpet
cleaning. As long as a regular cleaning schedule is
maintained, carpet provides much better indoor air quality
than hardwood.
